GAITHERSBURG, Md. – Donations poured in faster than Jenifer Miller ever imagined.
Miller, a mother of five, arranged an online fundraiser through the website gofundme.com, after she learned of the unthinkable crash in Gaithersburg.

The fund has collected more than $349,000 as of just before 2 p.m.
A jet crashed into a home, killing Marie Gemmel and her two young sons.
“As it started to unfold I realize I knew them from where I work,” Miller says.
Miller is a waitress at the nearby Dogfish Head Alehouse.
“I’ve waited on them many times,” she explains.
Marie Gemmel leaves behind a husband and daughter, and the tragedy clearly touched scores of people.
Miller’s fundraiser has generated a tremendous amount of money, with cash coming in sometimes several times a minute.
“I thought we would be lucky to get $10,000, that’s a pretty significant amount of money,” Miller explains.
In just hours, she raised ten times that amount.
“The outpouring of generosity is overwhelming, it’s just continued to grow,” Miller says.
“It’s unbelievable.”
